Middle East‘s 100GWh Solar-Storage Era Begins – JA Solar 3GW, BYD 11.275GWh Lock in RTC Mega Project
In July 2026, the UAE RTC (Round The Clock) solar-storage project entered its equipment delivery phase. This is the world‘s first GW-scale 24/7 renewable energy project, featuring a 5.2GW solar PV plant paired with a 19GWh battery energy storage system. With a total investment of $6.1 billion, the project is jointly developed by Masdar and EWEC and is scheduled for full operation in 2027.
Multiple Chinese companies have secured core shares of the project:
Notably, JinkoSolar‘s Tiger Neo 3.0 modules surpassed 20GW in global orders in the first half of 2026, with approximately 60% coming from distributed markets worldwide. The Tiger Neo 3.0 has become the preferred choice in distribution markets due to its superior low-light response and shading resistance.
The Middle East solar-storage market has entered the “100GWh-scale procurement” era – with the RTC project‘s 19GWh storage entering delivery, solar-storage integration has moved from blueprint to reality. For EPCs, single-source supply and reliable lead times for modules, inverters and batteries have become mandatory qualifications for participating in subsequent national projects such as NEOM.
Chasun Solar‘s One-Stop Full Supply

Core Advantages
The Middle East‘s 100GWh solar-storage era is fully underway. JA Solar‘s 3GW, BYD‘s 11.275GWh, and Sungrow’s 7.5GWh have locked in their shares, but national projects like NEOM and the Red Sea tourism zone are coming up for tender. Chasun Solar‘s complete product matrix and full-service capability help you secure your share of the next round of solar-storage tenders.
